Imaging reveals connection between gut and brain in Alzheimer's disease

Using modern X-ray phase contrast tomography (XPCT), scientists have discovered how gut health can influence Alzheimer's disease. The study showed structural changes in the intestines of mice suffering from Alzheimer's disease, as well as abnormalities in intestinal cells, neurons, and mucus secretion.
