Cord blood stem cells hold hidden potential for regenerative medicine

Scientists have discovered a technique that can be used to increase the regenerative properties of stem cells from umbilical cord blood, which could improve the results of bone marrow transplants. A method that improves the functionality of an often overlooked type of stem cell could lead to better treatments for blood disorders.
